Trivium Coffee – Branding & Semiotics Project
Trivium Coffee is a concept brand created as part of an academic assignment focused on understanding semiotics in branding. The vision behind Trivium Coffee is to transform the coffee landscape, empowering every consumer to evolve from a casual drinker to a connoisseur—at their own pace—while encouraging global impact through quality and education.
The name “Trivium” draws from classical education, referring to the three foundational arts of learning: grammar, rhetoric, and logic. In Latin, it means “three roads”—symbolizing growth, learning, and mastery. This concept is deeply embedded in the brand’s identity.
Logo Semiotic Meaning
The Trivium Coffee logo is rich with meaning:
- Coffee Cup Motif – The two arcs above form the shape of a coffee cup.
- Coffee Bean – Centered in the logo to represent authenticity and premium quality.
- Three Waves –”Trivium” symbolizes paths of growth: casual drinker → learner → connoisseur.
- Typography –Trivium uses Montserrat Extra Bold to express strength and approachability. Coffee uses Forum to evoke tradition, refinement, and intellectual depth.
- Color Palette –Golden Brown and Dark Roast Brown reflect earthy richness, sustainability, and warmth.
